Improving Global Health Programme


The IGH Programme recruits NHS employees from across England, from clinical or non-clinical backgrounds, with an interest in developing their leadership skills in a challenging resource-poor environment.

The IGH Programme currently works with overseas partners in:

  • Anguilla
  • Cambodia – Battambang
  • Lesotho – Mapoteng
  • Myanmar – Yangon
  • South Africa – Western Cape and Eastern Cape
  • Uganda – Gulu
  • Zambia – Lusaka

Virtual Fellowships

Due to extended travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have developed a pilot model of part-time remote/virtual fellowships, with our seven existing IGH overseas partners.  Initially, these will be a replacement for our existing model of 6-months’ overseas placements, but if effective may continue as an additional model of fellowship run at the same time, once physical placements are able to resume.

If you have applied and are shortlisted, you will be asked to attend a virtual 30-minute interview between 26-31 January 2022.
