Improving Global Health (IGH) Programme


The IGH Programme recruits NHS employees from across England, from clinical or non-clinical backgrounds, with an interest in developing their leadership skills in a challenging resource-poor environment.

The IGH Programme currently works with overseas partners in:

  • Anguilla
  • Cambodia – Battambang
  • Lesotho – Mapoteng
  • Myanmar – Yangon
  • South Africa – Western Cape and Eastern Cape
  • Uganda – Gulu
  • Zambia – Lusaka

Models of Fellowship

Two models of fellowship participation are possible: full-time overseas placements and part-time virtual, when the Fellow works from home, typically on a one-day per week equivalent basis. Both models are subject to availability.
