Meet the Team

Helen Slattery

Helen joined the team as a Project Manager in March 2020, supporting NHS staff to volunteer in global health, both overseas and virtually, via the Diagnostic Imaging Project in Gulu, Uganda. She also supports fellowship programmes such as Improving Global Health as a Parnership Link Lead. Prior to this she ran the ‘Gulu-Man’ Health Partnership Link for four years based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Helen is a registered nurse, and began her career in healthcare as an Intensive Care Nurse at MFT.

Deborah Watts

Deborah is a Project Manager for the Improving Global Health (IGH) Programme and has had operational responsibility for IGH since 2013. She has been in the NHS since 2010 and has a background in marketing and advertising. Deborah is a Trustee for a charity which provides accessible music-making opportunities to support the wellbeing of young people, and is also secretary to the south region of another charity, the British Wheel of Yoga. She is a keen swimmer, a member of her local Nordic Walking Group and the servant of two very spoilt cats.

Kate Roberts

Kate joined the Global Health Partnerships (GHP) Directorate (formerly known as Global Engagement) as a Project Manager in September 2018.  She currently supports NHS staff to participate in global health via a new bilateral staff exchange partnership project with the Thai Consortium of Medical Schools. Kate joined Health Education England from the Department of Health in 2012 where she supported the establishment of Medical Education England.  Before joining GHP, she provided project/programme management support in the Workforce Planning & Intelligence Directorate.  Kate has a background in medical education.

Moses Mulimira

Moses  joined the team as a Project Manager in July 2021, supporting Alliances. Prior to this, he was the UK lead of Uganda UK Health Alliance, Co-Chair of East London NHS Global Health Link and a Public Health Addictions Clinician in NHS.
